Girls even have two options and can appear either as a pirate bride with a weapon and cheeky trousers or in a smart 18th-century dress. The pirate costume for girls is brightly colored: Whether wearing wide pirate trousers or a skirt, their outfit is completed by a beautiful blouse and a captain’s hat.

Little boys put on boots, place a large hat on their heads, and carry small antique pistols on their belts. A headscarf, like those worn by sailors, identifies the young pirate. Developing the Pirate Costume for Children

The versatility of pirate costumes for adults and children is particularly appealing. As a pirate, simply changing the headwear can create major transformations, for example from an ordinary sailor into a captain.
